Drawing while driving: hillside

This is the first in a series of drawings that I plan to post on upcoming Wednesdays. I keep a clipboard of paper and Sharpies in my car and I do quick drawings to remind me of things I see  or images that come to me while I am driving. Naturally, these drawings are not detailed and include only what is necessary for me to remember what I was thinking about; they usually only take a few seconds and often I don’t even spare a glance at them while I am drawing. I find that this forces me to distill only the important details and not think about the quality of the line which ironically often results in a “good” drawing. Sometimes I like them because they served their function, other drawings I like because the line is good or they break up the paper surface in an unexpected way.
